SKIN COLOR DOES NOT MEAN SOLIDARITY IN BASEBALL

In this USA TODAY article MLB player Tori Hunter is expressing the sentiments of what a lot of players are feeling about the influx of Latin ball players. In a way I agree with him that there is definitely a lack of African American BASEBALL players but some of his comments were a little off. I think Vlad Guerrero is black but happens to be from the Dominican Republic. Does he consider himself black (Vlad) I think he does but that is besides the point. My point is that these American players are worried they might lose their jobs to foreign born players at the fraction of the salary they were being paid. It is from the school of cheaper labor for the same or even better "work" This is not only going on in MLB but around all professional sports.

One thing i must say is that I do wish there were most baseball fields in the inner city. It seems as if the hood is loaded with basketball courts and churn out thousands of basketball players from the inner city. But there is definitely a lack of golf courses and soccer fields. HMMMMMMM I wonder why?

Let's get some more baseball fields in the inner city. Not just to add more sprinkles in MLB but to allow an alternative to playing basketball and getting healthy.
