Human Nature

"Human Nature" was written by Steve Porcaro of Toto and John Bettis for Michael Jackson's Thriller album. Initially, Porcaro recorded a rough demo of the song on a cassette.[1] Fellow Toto band member David Paich then gave the demo, along with two songs written by Paich, to producer Quincy Jones, hoping they would be included on Thriller.[1] Jones didn't like Paich's songs, but enjoyed the rough demo of "Human Nature" at the end of the cassette.[1] Jones explained, "All of a sudden, at the end, there was all this silence, there was: 'why, why, dah dah da-dum dah dah, why, why'. Just a dummy lyric and a very skeletal thing—I get goosebumps talking about it. I said, 'This is where we wanna go, because it's got such a wonderful flavour'".[2] The producer asked if the song could be included on Jackson's album, to which Porcaro and Bettis agreed.[1] "Human Nature" was the last song selected for Thriller, ousting "Carousel" from the final track listing.

He is out of our lives

She's out of My Life
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"She's Out of My Life" is a song that became famous as the fourth single to be released by singer Michael Jackson from his successful Off the Wall album in 1980. It was the first time a solo artist achieved four top ten hits from one album. Unlike the previous singles, which were all dance-oriented funk/disco songs, this song was an emotional ballad. Jackson's vocals on this record were judged some of his best. The song was written by Tom Bahler after Karen Carpenter broke up with him upon discovering he had fathered a child with another woman.[1] The song has been covered numerous times by many artists including Patti LaBelle, Ginuwine, 98 Degrees, Barbara Mandrell, Willie Nelson, and Josh Groban.

A crucial moment in the song occurs near its end when Jackson begins to break down in tears as he sings the word "life". The song remained in Jackson's live set for many years as a result of its popularity. Jackson tried many takes of the last few minutes of the song, but always ended the same way – breaking down in tears. Producer Quincy Jones let him record it that way:

She's Out of My Life I'd been carrying around for about three years, - you can feel the pain in it you know. And I held on to it and finally something said 'this is the right moment to give it to Michael'.

And when we recorded it with Michael I know it was an experience he'd never even thought about to sing in a song, cause it's a very mature emotion. And, - he cried at the end of every take, you know. We recorded about, I don't know, 8-11 takes, and everyone, at the end he just cried, and I said 'hey - that's supposed to be, leave it on there.'

BAD THE LONG VERSION - MJ REPS BK

Directed by Martin Scorsese

Via Wikipedia

The full music video for "Bad" is an 18-minute short film written by novelist and screenwriter Richard Price and based on the case of Edmund Perry. The video was directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Michael Jackson. Jackson portrays a boy named Daryl who has just completed a successful term at an expensive private school. He returns to the city by subway, arriving in a derelict neighborhood.

Daryl arrives to find his house empty (his mother is played by Roberta Flack, albeit in voiceover), but is greeted by his old friends, led by Mini Max (an emerging Wesley Snipes) and spends an evening with them. At first relations are friendly, if slightly awkward, but the situation deteriorates once the rest of the gang realize how much Daryl has changed, and in particular how uncomfortable he has become with their tendencies towards petty crime. In an attempt to show his friends he is still "bad", Daryl takes the gang to a subway station (The Hoyt Schermerhorn Station in Brooklyn) where he attempts to mug an elderly man but bails out at the last minute. Mini Max berates Daryl and tells him that he's no longer bad.

After more abuse from Mini Max, the video jumps from black and white to color and Daryl, now dressed head to foot in leather and joined by a crowd of dancing punks, sings "Bad" (it is at this point that the edited video generally begins when played on television). His insistence that Max is headed for a fall are nearly Daryl's undoing, but eventually his friend accepts that "that's the way it goes down", and, after a final handshake, heads off leaving Daryl. The scene shifts back to black and white as Daryl, alone and back in his tracksuit, watching them leave.

What was this really about?

Me and G were watching the MJ VH1 Classic Tribute and talking on BBM...We wondered which videos they would play. The definitely played all the his great jams but as we were messaging each other she asked me "what happened to that eddie murphy". I immediately broke into (LOL). This video is comedy gold but I am not sure that it was mean to be funny at all. I wonder how much Eddie had to break Michael off to get him to do this video.

LEGEND

MJ

Last night my lady and I were so shocked about the news of Mike's passing. We decided to walk over to the one place where we know we could be around OUR people and really feel Michael. The Apollo Theater was the place to be last night. It was a celebration of his life. The people were dancing and singing in the streets. I am still sad. I have not still felt it 100% and I think it will come and it will be with a stream of tears. It was nice to be with someone to share my pain.

All day long I will play the music of Michael Jackson.

Although I was never able to see him in concert my parents told me stories about seeing him @ the famed Apollo Theater when he was apart of the Jackson 5.

Listening to "wanna be startin something" and his lyrics are so true to the community today

"If ya can't feed a baby, then don't have a baby"

Now everybody sing it with me

"Lift Your Head Up High
And Scream Out To The World
I Know I Am Someone
And Let The Truth Unfurl
No One Can Hurt You Now
Because You Know What's True
Yes, I Believe In Me
So You Believe In You
Help Me Sing It,
Ma Ma Se,Ma Ma Sa, Ma Ma Coo Sa
Ma Ma Se, Ma Ma Sa,Ma Ma Coo Sa

YOU WILL BE MISSED

I have so many fond memories of Michael Jackson. He really did touch my soul with his music. My lady loves his music from top to bottom. She put me onto so many MJ songs I have never heard and quickly fell in love with. I know he was a celebrity but I really feel like he was our KING. No matter what he thought or each time he would do something to his face or hair or whatever he was still MJ! MJ we will miss you but your music will live on FOREVER!

RIP FARRAH FAWCETT

Via her business partner's Blog"
I am sorry to say our Farrah has passed to a better place and left the pain and confines of her bed behind. She is free to be the woman we all knew and loved. So Few have touched so many. You all keep Fighting the Fight."

(CNN)

Fawcett, who checked into a Los Angeles, California, hospital in early April, had been battling anal cancer on and off for three years.
Ryan O'Neal, Fawcett's romantic partner since the mid-1980s, recently told People magazine that the sex symbol was declining.
"She stays in bed now. The doctors see that she is comfortable. Farrah is on IVs, but some of that is for nourishment. The treatment has pretty much ended," he said in a story posted May 7.
Fawcett's cancer journey has been documented in a television special partly shot by the actress. Fawcett began shooting "Farrah's Story," by taking a camera to a doctor's appointment. Eventually, the film expanded to include trips overseas in hopes of treating the cancer.
The documentary aired on NBC on May 15.
Fawcett's beauty -- her gleaming smile was printed on millions of posters -- initially made her famous. But she later established herself as a serious actress. She starred as a battered wife in the 1984 TV movie "The Burning Bed." She appeared on stage as a woman who extracts vengeance from a would-be rapist in William Mastrosimone's play "Extremities." Watch Fawcett accept her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame »
She reprised the "Extremities" role on film in 1986. Other Fawcett films include "Logan's Run" (1976), "Saturn 3" (1980), "The Cannonball Run" (1981), "The Apostle" (1997) and the Robert Altman-directed "Dr. T and the Women" (2000).
To many, Fawcett will always be best known for her red-swimsuited image on the pinup poster, which sold a reputed 12 million copies after its release in 1976.
Fawcett was a model best known for bit parts, commercials and as "Six Million Dollar Man" actor Lee Majors' wife when she shot the poster in early 1976 at the behest of Pro Arts, a Cleveland, Ohio, company.
Photographer Bruce McBroom placed Fawcett -- then known as Farrah Fawcett-Majors -- in the Indian blanket-draped front seat of his 1937 Chevy and snapped away. Fawcett did her own hair -- a long, tousled cascade of blonde locks -- picked out the red bathing suit and chose the frame later used for the poster, according to a story in the Toronto Star.
The poster, with Fawcett's million-dollar smile front and center, became a sensation.
Soon after the photo shoot, Fawcett was asked to join the cast of a new Aaron Spelling TV show, "Charlie's Angels," about a trio of female detectives who work for a mysterious man named Charlie, whose only appearance in the show was through his voice (supplied by John Forsythe). Watch Fawcett talk about why she left "Angels" »
Fawcett, who played Jill Munroe, was the last to be cast. Co-star Kate Jackson was the known name at the time, but thanks to her poster, Fawcett became the breakout star.
The highly rated TV series kicked off what came to be known as "jiggle TV," series full of pretty actresses who appeared in bikinis at the drop of a hat.
"Denunciations of 'massage parlor television' and 'voyeurism' only brought more viewers to the screen, to see what the controversy was about," wrote Tim Brooks and Earle Marsh about "Charlie's Angels" in their indispensable reference, "The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows."
ABC's "Three's Company" and CBS's "The American Girls" were among the shows that immediately followed, and shows such as "Baywatch" owe "Charlie's Angels" a debt.
But Fawcett didn't stay with "Angels" long. At the end of the first season, unhappy with her contract, she left the show and was replaced by Cheryl Ladd.
Fawcett's career stagnated for a time after "Charlie's Angels." She appeared in a handful of forgettable films and divorced Majors.
But her career received a major boost with her starring role in "The Burning Bed," a 1984 TV movie co-starring Paul Le Mat. Fawcett played an abused wife who sets fire to her husband's bed as he lies sleeping. Fawcett received an Emmy nomination for her performance.
Fawcett also became romantically involved with O'Neal around this time. The pair had a son, Redmond, in 1985.
In recent years, Fawcett has appeared sporadically in the public eye. She posed nude for Playboy in 1995. In 1997, she appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman," an interview that became notorious for Fawcett's apparent incoherence. She later said she was just having fun with Letterman.
She reunited with her "Charlie's Angels" co-stars, Jackson and Jaclyn Smith, for an awards show in 2006.

LOVE WILL KEEP US TOGETHER

MUST SEE MOVIE

http://www.foodincmovie.com/

In Food, Inc., filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that has been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government's regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA. Our nation's food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment. We have bigger-breasted chickens, the perfect pork chop, herbicide-resistant soybean seeds, even tomatoes that won't go bad, but we also have new strains of E. coli—the harmful bacteria that causes illness for an estimated 73,000 Americans annually. We are riddled with widespread obesity, particularly among children, and an epidemic level of diabetes among adults.

Featuring interviews with such experts as Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma, In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto) along with forward thinking social entrepreneurs like Stonyfield's Gary Hirshberg and Polyface Farms' Joel Salatin, Food, Inc. reveals surprising—and often shocking truths—about what we eat, how it's produced, who we have become as a nation and where we are going from here.

WOKE UP THIS MORNING WITH THIS SONG IN MY HEAD

Yeah, (sunrise) there's a new sun risin'
(In your eyes) I can see a new horizon
(Realize) that will keep me realizin'
You're the biggest part of me

(Stay the night) need your lovin' here beside me
(Shine the light) need you close enough to guide me
(All my life) I've been hopin' you would find me
You're the biggest part of me

Well, make a wish baby
Well and I will make it come true
Make a list baby
Of the things I'll do for you
Ain't no risk now
In lettin' my love rain down on you
So we can wash away the past
So that we may start anew

(Rainbow) risin' up on my shoulders
(Love flows) gettin' better as we're older
(All I know) all I wanna do is hold her
She's the life that breathes in me

METS AND THE MOVIES

Special thanks to "Jenny from Queens" for inviting me to the Met game at the movies. The NY METS and the Zeigfeld theatre teamed up to bring the mets while they are struggling on the road right to NYC. The game is broadcasted live to the big screen and it is hosted by the METS public address announcer.

It was fun! Its just like going to the game. 7th inning stretch, t shirt throwing, ticket giveaways, etc.

Best part about it is that there are no commercials shown and everyone just seems to be having so much fun. I would definitely recommend it to a true MET fan.

FYI it is the 40th Anniverssary of the METS winning their 1st World Series. As a suprise to the fans Bud Harrelson and Ed Kranepool were in attendence. That was really great!

LETS GO METS!

WHAM WAS THE SHIZZZ

Every time I hear these songs I can't help but think. Man those boys can sure write a tune: Though the majority of the hits were written solely but George Michael . Those boys could sure write some hits and at such a young age. Anyway, and yes I was the last one to get the memo that George played for the other team. Not sure why the "WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO GO" didn't smack me in the face with a big Gay mickey mouse hand! Hello! Anyway, enjoy!!

Convenience Store, Supermarket Jams

Have you ever been in a convenience store and a song you have not heard in years comes on and you have to yourself "let me walk in the aisles looking at the magazines just so you can listen to the entire song. These songs are on the lighter side and most people do not know the artist or name of the song but they can sing every word. Don't you hate it when its coming to your favorite part of the song and you hear "Susie I need an approval or I need a manager in produce" How rude! Anyway this Spotlight is on:

From Stephen Bishop's Website:

At the age of thirteen, Stephen Bishop found himself at a crossroads. A clarinetist with hopes of becoming a History teacher, he was forever changed after watching the Beatles one night on “The Ed Sullivan Show.” He convinced his brother to buy him an electric guitar. He bought a “Mel Bay” chordbook and began to learn to play guitar and make up chords as well, writing his first song,”Surf’s Turf..” a pathetic sounding instrumental. He formed a band called, “The Weeds” and began to play at local fraternity parties incorporating his own original songs with various songs from top 40...

The Weeds won 2nd place at the Claremont Battle of the Bands, prompting one of the judges to explain that “Stephen Bishop is going to be a big songwriter someday!” Determined to fulfill that prophesy, Stephen made the trip to Los Angeles. He walked the streets with his $12 acoustic guitar, playing songs for various publishers in Hollywood... eventually landing a publishing deal at $50 a week for E.H.Morris Publishing. One of his songs was recorded only to be followed by a long wait...many years went by. At one point, Stephen considered leaving L.A. to return home and work for his Dad’s Insurance company. Through a good friend, Art Garfunkel heard some of his new songs and recorded two of them on his Gold recording, “Breakaway.”

He started playing around town singing his songs in person for artists like,“Barbra Streisand...Bette Midler..Diana Ross...Michelle Phillips...” Shortly thereafter, he was signed to ABC Records who released his first album, “Careless.” His two hits from that album were,”Save It For a Rainy Day,” and “On and On..” Soon the album went gold, as well as his next album, Bish.

He sang the hit theme, “It Might Be You,” from the movie, “Tootsie,” as well as writing and/or singing 13 other films including, “Animal House,” and “Separate Lives..” from “White Nights.” His songs have been sung by artists such as: Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Barbra Streisand, Art Garfunkel, Steve Perry, Stephanie Mills, Kenny Loggins, Johnny Mathis, Phoebe Snow, David
Crosby, The Four Tops, Aswad and Pavarotti.

Stephen has been nominated for a two Grammy’s and an Oscar nomination for his song, “Separate Lives”. His last CD was entitled, “Blue Guitars..” His newest album is an acoustic guitar and vocal solo album called, "YARDWORK." MCA recently released a hit compilation in the Millennium series that is currently out in the stores...

This is kinda Loud: On and On

RELL'S SONG FOR USHER

This is actually my favorite song on the album.

Good lyrics Rell:

WE MISS YOU RELL

One of the many things my crazy mind thinks about: What happened to Rell

wikipedia: 'Rell was the first male R&B singer signed to Roc-A-Fella Records. He appeared in Jay-Z's movie, "Streets Is Watching." While at Roc-A-Fella, he recorded with artists such as Kanye West, Jay-Z, Consequence, Young Gunz and others. He grew up in Bowman, South Carolina. He is a former South Carolina State pre-med student. As the first male R&B solo artist signed to Roc-a-Fella Records, Rell got his first break in 1998, appearing in Jay-Z's rap cult flick Streets Is Watching, and contributing the feel-good club banger Love For Free to the movie's soundtrack. Going on to sing hooks for nearly every Roc-a-Fella MC since, including Jay-Z's It's Obvious and Freeway's Victim Of The Ghetto, and appearing on The Message featuring Mary J. Blige from Dr. Dre's classic Chronic 2001.

Not so washed up: (Here I Stand) written By (Rell) The Former Rocafella R&B Singer...So at least he has some checks still coming in.

DID YOUR HIGH SCHOOL MAKE THE LIST

The complete list of the 1,500 top U.S. high schools:

Via Newsweek.com

Public schools are ranked according to a ratio devised by Jay Mathews: the number of Advanced Placement, Intl. Baccalaureate and/or Cambridge tests taken by all students at a school in 2008 divided by the number of graduating seniors. All of the schools on the list have an index of at least 1.000; they are in the top 6 percent of public schools measured this way.

If you have questions about the list, please contact challenge@washpost.com. Note: Subs. Lunch % is the percentage of students receiving federally subsidized meals. E and E % stands for equity and excellence percentage: the portion of all graduating seniors at a school that had at least one passing grade on one AP or IB test. For more information on methodology, see our FAQ; please leave your comments on the list in the comments box below.

Check the link below. Unfortunately the High School I attended did not make the list but maybe one of yours did?

THIS PISSED ME OFF

Ok, if you don't want to get mad do not watch this is video. I was on mediatakeout and I usually don't watch videos on there but i said "why not" and i regret it. A guy with a camera goes around Israel and asks the locals how they feel about the President of the United States.

Truthfully I don't care about any of these people in this video but it hurts to see that people can say all of these things on camera. In closing, to the dumb "political science" major Benjamin Netanyahu is the prime minister of Israel so shut the F UP!! MORON!!

ENJOY THIS WONDERFUL UPLIFTING VIDEO.

The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival is a celebration of Hip-Hop music and culture. Our aim is to highlight Hip-Hop’s legacy as an agent of artistic progression, community building and social change.

We do this by producing a variety of events from musical performances, Brooklyn Hip-Hop Family Day, film screenings, gallery shows and more.

In an effort to create a truly open event Brooklyn Bodega does everything in their power to keep the Festival affordable.

OOPS SORRY FEIST

SAMPLE COVER THIS BEE GEES VS FEIST

This will be the 1st installment of:

Sample/Cover Fest:
These entries will include the original tune and covered tune and sampled tune. Since there is an abscence of originality in music i figured I would teach some of the people "where does that come from"

Bee Gees are one of my favorite groups. Surprise Surprise with my penchant for sappy love music. But anyway.....I think the Brothers Gibb win hands down but Feist does do the song justice. This is what attracted me to Feist. Enjoy the vids: Also check out the homie Snoop Dogg get his Brothers Gibb thizzle on:

P.S. I would have added Total's "When Boy Meets Girl" but Diddy is c--- blocking about 90% of Bad Boy's music on the interwebs.
